  • Land Use & Development

    The Land Use portfolio is responsible for reviewing rezoning applications, development proposals, and building compliance within Melville. This committee ensures that new developments align with the suburb’s character and infrastructure capacity. It also works closely with the City of Johannesburg to advocate for responsible urban planning and sustainable growth.

  • Liquor Licensing & Business Compliance

    The Liquor portfolio monitors liquor license applications to ensure they comply with local regulations and do not negatively impact residential areas. The committee engages with businesses to promote responsible alcohol sales and addresses concerns related to noise, disturbances, and non-compliance with by-laws.

  • Communications & Community Engagement

    The Communications portfolio manages MRA’s outreach and information-sharing efforts. This includes maintaining the website, managing social media platforms, and sending out newsletters to keep residents informed about important developments, upcoming meetings, and community projects.
